The undergraduate degree in communicative disorders is the first step leading to certification in speech and language pathology or audiology. The second step is completion of the Masters Degree. The undergraduate major has an education option and a clinical option. The education option provides coursework which contributes to the requirements for a teacher's certificate in the State of Wisconsin most other states.
The clinical option does not. Both options provide coursework contributing to the requirements for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The option you choose should reflect careful consideration of possible career goals. Career information can be obtained from the Coordinator of Academic Programs and other members of the School of Communicative Disorders.
